As of Friday August 13, no further hotel changes are permitted at the Hotel Rila. We are sold out of hotel rooms at the team hotel, the Hotel Rila. To book into a hotel for this competition, please contact the accommodations manager Kamilla Vargas at travel@triathlonbudapest.com. She will be able to help you find available accommodations for the competition. If you require Heartland Travel to arrange air and / or insurance coverage for you, please fill out the travel request form at the bottom of the page and indicate what you need for your trip and send it in. Documentation All passengers require a valid passport for international travel. Your name on your passport must be an exact match with your air ticket. Please make sure your passport is valid 6 months after your completed date of travel. Note-You do not need a Visa if you are a Canadian citizen. Flights We have no group air blocked for this competition. Should you require Heartland Travel to make your flight reservations, please let us know the dates you would like and we will provide you with schedules and prices. You can indicate this on the travel request form located at the bottom of this page. Please remember that passengers will be permitted to bring liquids, gels and aerosols through security screening at Canadian airports provided that the items are packaged in containers with a capacity of 100ml or less, and that the containers fit comfortably in one clear, closed and re-sealable plastic bag with a capacity of no more than 1 litre (1 quart). One bag per passenger will be permitted. General Flight Information to Remember Any airline frequent flyer number(s) must match the name(s) of the person who is traveling. That passenger is the only one who can accumulate mileage points, and another person's number is not valid. At check-in, please verify that your number has been received by the airline. Accommodation - SOLD OUT Ho(s)tel Rila - 2 star The recently renovated Hotel & Hostel Rila is situated in the center of Budapest, in a peaceful green area, close to the highway to the airport, just 3 stops by metro (M3 - blue line) from the heart of the city. The Hotel's/Hostel's convenient location attracts hostel and hotel guests, individual travelers, as well as business visitors. Hotel & Hostel Rila also provides the ideal environment for conferences and corporate seminars. In the Hotel/Hostel's beautiful restaurant, decorated with wooden carvings of great marksmanship, Hungarian and International dishes are served, as well as breakfast (included in the price). Optional Insurance Package Information Insurance coverage is strongly recommended. Please note that for some previous competitions, passengers declined insurance and subsequently had to cancel their travel plans due to unexpected accidents. Air and hotel cancellation penalties took effect and considerable sums of money were lost. See what type of coverage is applicable for you and then make your decision accordingly. Note that the amount of coverage provided for baggage and personal effects is usually not enough to cover the value of your bike. The insurance offered here is not designed to cover high-valued items such as bikes, cameras, jewelry, etc. These items should be covered separately on a dwelling or homeowner’s policy. Talk to your local insurance company about this coverage. Break down the cost of insurance for your trip based on a per-day basis, and you will see that it is economical coverage that also buys you piece of mind. RBC Insurance Information 1) Deluxe Package Insurance This insurance covers you for emergency medical costs that you may incur while out of Canada; it also covers for any cancellation penalties you may be required to pay in the event that you have booked and paid for everything, and then cannot go due to an unexpected medical reason. The key word is “unexpected”. The insurance will not cover for existing medical situations, or if you simply change your mind and you decide not to go. In addition, the insurance will also cover you if someone in your immediate family becomes ill, due to unexpected medical reasons, and this prevents you from traveling. The terms and conditions are as per RBC’s Insurance policy. In the event of a claim, RBC Insurance will require a doctor’s certificate to substantiate the claim. Payment Schedule A fully completed Travel Request Form, including credit card information is required to reserve your air and/or hotel space. Incomplete forms will not be processed. All athletes must fill out the travel request form that are booking through us. Deposit A non-refundable deposit of $100.00 CAD / person is due at the time of booking, as well as the cost of insurance if that option has been selected. We will only respond to all fully completed Travel Request Forms and confirm your booking request. Final Payment Full payment is due by July 16, 2010. If space is available, reservations after this date require full payment at the time of booking. Payment for the airfare, insurance, and/or hotel accommodations can only be made by Visa, MasterCard, or certified cheque. Changes after July 16, 2010 After confirmation and final payment has been taken for your booking, any name changes or changes/additions to the land arrangements are subject to a $50.00 CAD change fee. Once ticketed, the airfare is subject to change/cancellation fees. Cancellation Policy Total travel (air and/or land) is 100% non-refundable. There is no refund for unused hotel nights or other prepaid travel services. Insurance coverage (Deluxe, Non-Medical, or Cancellation and Interruption) is strongly recommended.
