There is only one place in the world where you can view hundreds of beluga whales in their natural habitat, and that place is Churchill, MB. Each year, the whales come to the Churchill River to give birth to their young in a naturally warmer environment that is easy on their calves, and are virtually safe from predators.

6:00 am - You depart the Calm Air Charter Terminal on a Saab 340 aircraft* for Churchill, MB. You will receive a light breakfast on board.
9:00 am - You arrive in Churchill. Upon arrival you will be transferred to the docking area to start your tour. With as many as 3,000 beluga whales sighted in a day, Churchill is one of the best places in the world to view these gentle mammals. Often called sea canaries for their unusual vocalizations, these white whales arrive in the Churchill River estuary every summer looking for warmer water in which to give birth, feed and shed their skins. After a brief explanation on the whales and a safety demonstration, you head out on board the Sea North II for your 3-hour tour. The boat features onboard hydrophones that amplify the songs of the most vocal whale on the world. While watching the whales, you will also tour the Prince of Wales Fort. Step back in time and relive the early days of the Fur Trade with the Fort’s 40-foot thick stone walls and 40 cannons. A boxed lunch will be served on board the boat tour. After lunch, you return to the docking area and board a Zodiac® to view more beluga whales . Zodiacs® are industrial-strength inflatable boats commonly used by military and law enforcement agencies. This is a 1-hour guided excursion into the beluga whale estuary in a Zodiac®. Quickly move around the beluga whale estuary and experience the largest beluga whale population in the world at surface level.
2:00 pm – After spending the day on the water with the belugas, you will head back to town for a guided town and area tour. You will visit local and historical points of interest in and around Churchill including such spots as Cape Merry and the Port of Churchill.
3:00 pm – After your town and area tour, you will have the chance to explore the town on your own. You can visit the Eskimo Museum which is renowned for its outstanding collection of Inuit artefacts or head to the Parks Canada Interpretive Centre for features, films, and displays on Churchill’s early days, or you can shop for unique souvenirs.
5:30 pm – A delicious dinner awaits you at the Seaport Restaurant. Choose from the local favourite of Arctic char or traditional favourites such as chicken or ribs.
