14:30 -Arrive Winnipeg
from Saskatoon - Air Canada 1968. The group is
met at the airport by agricultural specialist
tour escort Crawford Jenkins. They are then taken
to their private bus and transferred to the Canadian
International Grain Institute in downtown Winnipeg.
15:15 - 16:30 Visit the Canadian International
Grain Institute. They are given a speech on the
Canadian grain industry and a tour of this unique
teaching facility which features grain testing
quality control laboratories, a commercial scale
flour mill, a secondary processing area in which
most types of baked goods and noodles can be produced
under commercial conditions.

16:30 - 16:45 The group transfers to the
historic and magnificent Hotel Fort Garry
for check in
18:30 - 20:00 Dinner at the Hotel Fort Garry

08:30 Breakfast at the Hotel Fort Garry.
08:45 - 09:00 The group is taken by Crawford Jenkins
on their private bus to the New Holland tractor
plant in Winnipeg.

Tour the New Holland plant. There is a video
presentation and then a tour of the plant
with New Holland guide Gerry Eschenwecker.
After the tour the group is transferred
on their bus about 45 minutes south of Winnipeg
to the town of Carman, Manitoba. |

12:00 - 13:30 Lunch at the Carman Motor Hotel
13:30 - 13:40 After lunch the group transfers
to the Zeneca Seeds facility just outside Carman
13:40 - 15:00 Visit Zeneca Seeds. The group is
shown the research operation and field test plots
by the Zeneca field specialists.
15:00 - 15:30 Following the tour it is back on
the bus for a short drive to the Pioneer Grain
Elevator at Brunkild.
15:30 - 16:30 Tour the Pioneer Grain elevator.
This is a "State of the Art" fully computerized
elevator as part of the James Richardson International
organization.
16:30 - 17:15 After the visit the group returns
to Winnipeg and the Hotel Fort Garry
18:00 - 18:15 This is a special evening as the
group then is transferred to the Celebrations
Dinner Theatre
18:15 - 22:30 Celebrations Dinner Theatre featuring
T Rex - The Musical. This is a very enjoyable
musical comedy that features hit songs from the
40's and 50's plus interesting audience participation.
22:30 - 22:45 Return transfer to the Hotel Fort

at the Hotel Fort Garry.
08:30 - 09:30 This morning again Crawford Jenkins
takes the group on another excursion. This time
the bus travels west to Elie, Manitoba to Abtshof
Farms, operated by Andreas Boersch.
9:30 - 11:30 Visit the 3200 acre Abtshof Farm.
Andreas Boersh is a grain farmer (wheat, canola,
barley oats and corn) who utilizes New Holland
equipment - tractor and combine. This is a very
progressive farm operation. Also Andreas takes
the group to the nearby brand new Prairie Flour
Mill that he and a few local investors built.
11:30 - 11:45 From the Prairie Flour Mill the
group transfers to the unique Girard Gardens
Restaurant in Elie
11:45 - 13:00 Lunch at the Girard Gardens Restaurant
. Located in an old barn this is a very quaint
restaurant with wonderful atmosphere.
13:00 - 14:30 Following lunch the group heads
west to Austin , Manitoba and the Manitoba Agricultural
Museum.
14:30 - 16:15 Visit the Manitoba Agricultural
Museum. This is a 55 acre site that houses a
drawn, steam, gas and diesel equipment, the
museum displays the evolution of farming practices
from the late 1800's to the mid 1970's. The
pioneer village displays the homes, schools,
churches and businesses that were all part of
early rural towns in Manitoba.
16:15 - 17:45 In the late afternoon the bus
returns the group to Winnipeg and the Hotel
Fort Garry.
18:30 - 18:45 This is another interesting evening
as the group departs the hotel and transfers
to the Paddlewheel Riverboat dock for a dinner
cruise

Paddlewheel Riverboat cruise and dinner.
This is a wonderful cruise along the historic
Red and Assiniboine Rivers. Not only do
you get a great view of the City of Winnipeg
but you also receive a fantastic meal and
are able to dance to a music man. |

at the Hotel Fort Garry.

Again Crawford Jenkins takes the group on
the bus to Winnipeg's Museum of Man and
Nature
10:00 - 11:30 Tour the Museum of Man and
Nature. The museum takes you through billions
of years of time and thousands of miles
of geographic space in a few hours. One
of North America's finest interpretive museum's,
it tells the story of our relationship to
the environment, from past to present and
from the north of Manitoba to the south. |
11:30 - 11:45 From the
Museum the group transfers to the Forks Market
and Historical site. The Forks Market, housed
in historic buildings, offers unique shopping
experiences, fresh and quality foods and handicraft
items. This historic site provides interpretive
displays, sculptures, a river promenade, prairie
garden and scenic viewpoints.
11:45 - 13:00
The group enjoys lunch at the Prairie Oyster
Restaurant. Located on the second floor
of the Fork's Market the Prairie Oyster
provides not only a great meal but a beautiful
panoramic view of the Fork's historic site
and the Assiniboine River.
13:00 - 13:20 Transfer to the Winnipeg Airport
14:25 - Depart for Calgary on Air Canada
