Spruce Woods Provincial Park

Wind-patterned sand, cacti, and high temperatures make it tempting to call Spirit Sands a desert, but it's not. It's a remnant of a giant beach ridge of what was once the shoreline of ancient Lake Agassiz. Hike, bike, ride, ski, and explore the diverse landscapes found in Spruce Woods Provincial Park, from sand dunes to mixed-grass prairie, and river bottom forest to upland deciduous forests. Home of the hognose snake and the prairie skink. For more information on Spruce Woods Provincial Park, visit: www.gov.mb.ca/conservation/parks/popular_parks/spruce_woods/index.htmlPark image
