Historical Nightlife Tour: The Golden Era of Theatres, Dance Halls, and Nightclubs of Winnipeg

August 10 & 24, 2011

Join local musician and author Owen Clark on a one-of-a-kind tour as he guides you through the streets of Winnipeg. You'll visit the sites of the Dance Halls, Night Clubs, and Theatres from years gone by. Winnipeg's "Las Vegas Strip" - Pembina Highway - where Winnipegger's danced the night away - at Jack's Place, the Highwayman, the Edgewater, and the Rancho Don Carlos. Visit the "Fort St. Music Row" where the National Theatre, The Orpheum, The Alhambra Dance Gardens, and the Stage Door Jazz Club entertained thousands from the 1920's to the 60's. You will take a drive down Annabella Street where musicians eked out a meager living performing in the brothels in the early 1900's.
