International Peace Garden

A “One of a Kind” floral garden and park dedicated to the long-standing peace between Canada and the United States located on the North Dakota/Manitoba border hosting sports and music camps. Floral displays, Peace Chapel, Floral Clock, Bell Tower, 911 Memorial Site, gift shop, interpretive centre, camping and cabin accommodations.

Hillcrest Museum

This museum is the Sowden family’s former residence, a 1910 castle-like home, containing household artifacts, an agricultural museum, a butterfly and moth collection. Also onsite is an original CPR caboose.

Souris Swinging Bridge

Overlooking the Souris River is a free-suspension foot bridge built by Squire Sowden over 100 years ago and spans a whopping 177 m/582 feet long.

Entertaining story tours and mini-musicals depict the heritage of the early settlers of the area with a tea room, outdoor terrace and nature trails.

Sipiweske Museum

The collection of memorabilia pays tribute to local pioneers, Wawanesa Insurance, the Criddle/Vane’s family legend and legacy (www.virtualmuseum.ca) and Nellie McClung, an author and activist. Of special interest is the 1882 St. John the Divine Anglican Church now a wayside chapel and the original 1901 office of the Wawanesa Mutual Insurance Co.
