St. Andrew's-on-the-Red Anglican Church & Rectory
It is the oldest stone church in Western Canada still used for public worship. The Gothic Revival church has massive stone walls which were quarried out of the banks of the Red River. Buffalo hide covered kneelers, stained glass windows, and many of the original fixtures are still in place today. The Rectory, built in 1854 for the Archdeacon of the day, William Cockran, is still used as a residence for the current Minister. The front part of the Rectory and grounds is a museum open for guided tours. It is considered one of the best remaining examples of what was called "Hudson Bay architecture".
